Free Tickets! We will be taping an episode of a new TV series, Beautiful Noise, in Toronto on Friday, April 7th at the Berkeley Church, 315 Queen Street East, at 8 pm. (One block west of Parliament at the corner of Berkeley and Queen.)
The show's producers have about 200 free tickets available.
Doors open at 7:15 pm and seats are first-come, first-served. Beer and water will be for sale at the bar until show time.

Here are the rules for the taping: -- No small children (too many dangerous obstacles, expensive equipment, etc...)
-- No cameras or recording devices of any type
-- No obvious brand names or logos on hats or shirts
-- Agreement by entering venue to appear in broadcast / please stay home if you don't want to appear on TV!

Our June show at the 930 Club has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 8th. It's an early show (doors open at 6:30 pm). Get there early; we'll be done and headed towards Boston by 9:30 pm.

Back in December 2004, we travelled forty-some hours on planes and in cars to spend less than 24 hours in County Kerry, Ireland. It was all worth it as we got to do an intimate show in a teeny old church with sixty audience members and a few TV cameras. The show was part of RTÉ TV's Other Voices Series and our episode is being broadcast on RTÉ Two in Ireland on May 22nd. After its broadcast, the set will be archived for viewing on the station's web site.

We just received word that XM Cafe Live (Channel 45) will be broadcasting a 1992 performance of ours from Royal Albert Hall in London. It's Episode 286. Broadcast at 9 pm eastern time on Monday, April 25th with many rebroadcasts throughout the week. Check the website for further details.

Long Journey Home, our new DVD, will be released in the UK and Europe on June 13th. Shortly thereafter, it will be for sale in the Junk Store. (And it will eventually find its way into record stores through those traditional established distribution channels.) It is a two-DVD set. The first disc is the complete, 2-hour Liverpool show from October 2004 mixed in 5.1 stereo. The second disc contains interviews with the entire touring band as well as a featurette shot during soundcheck in Liverpool.

For the first time since last century, Brother John Timmins will be sitting in with the band in concert this summer. John makes his re-appearance for the first time since the '80s at the Out Of The Cold benefit in Toronto. And he'll be joining us this summer in the Northeast U.S., the North Central U.S. and on the West Coast. Tour dates are starting to roll in. Check here for all the information.

We're also putting the finishing touches on a new CD and a new Live DVD that will be released later this spring. Stay tuned for details.

Rounder Records is re-releasing the Open Road DVD/CD on February 1, 2005 in the United States. This is the same DVD and CD that was released in 2002 in new packaging so that it fits in CD racks at record stores. Instead of being a DVD with a live CD as it was in 2002, it is being re-born as a live CD with a bonus DVD this time.

The Folk Fusion Quartet: F2Q (Margo, Michael, Jeff and Jaro) can be seen in performance, on-line, at an Orange Lounge Session that they taped in August. A high-speed internet connection is needed. Margo's interview with Steve Inskeep on NPR's Morning Edition is scheduled to run on Wednesday, September 22nd. Overnight news developments could possibly bump the interview to Thursday or Friday. After it runs, the interview will be archived for listening on the Morning Edition web site.

Mike and Margo will be performing a short acoustic set on Saturday, September 18th at 1pm at Holt Renfrew in Toronto (50 Bloor St. W., 3rd floor).

Mike and Margo will drop in on WRSI, 93.9 FM, in Northampton, MA, this afternoon. Listen in sometime between 3 pm and 5 pm for a few songs and some chit-chat

Mike and Margo will be appearing on City TV's Breakfast Show in Vancouver sometime early Thursday morning and then they'll be on KATU TV in Portland between 9 am and 10 am on Friday. Tune in to see what tired rockers look like on early-morning TV!

Margo, Mike and whoever else tags along will be appearing on KTBC Fox Channel 7 in Austin early on Friday morning, August 6th. And they'll re-appear later that afternoon in the studios of one of our favourite radio stations, KGSR 107.1 at around 3:30 pm.

We're pleased to announce that we're going to offer Instant Live CDs of of two shows in the following couple of weeks. Instant Live is a technology that burns CDs of the show you just saw instantly after a show is over. You pick the CD up of the show you just watched on your way out that night. We're excited to try this out at our FleetBoston Pavilion and Keswick Theatre shows in July.

It has come to our attention that there has been some confusion about the pre-order of the new CD in the Junk Store. It seems that many of you expected to receive the CD before the release date, which was June 8th. We were not legally allowed to ship the CDs before that date. Additionally, there was an approximate two-day delay because of some customs importation problems.
